Do massage therapists need to write SOAP notes?
In most places, yes. Documentation is what protects your practice if a session is ever questioned, and it is usually required for insurance billing, referrals, and continuity of care between visits. SOAP is the format most clinics and insurers expect, though some therapists prefer PIRP or a narrative. Massage Scribe writes all three.
How long does a note actually take?
Under a minute in normal use. You describe the session out loud, or step through a guided form if you would rather not talk, and a complete structured note comes back for you to review. You stay in control: read it, adjust any line, then save or export.
Which note formats are supported?
SOAP, PIRP, and Narrative. You pick the format per note, so a clinic that wants SOAP and a client file that reads better as a narrative can both come from the same session.

Voice is transcribed live and the audio is discarded rather than stored. Private therapist notes stay private and never appear in exports. Our Privacy Policy spells out every detail.
Does it work on a computer, or only on my phone?
Both. There are iPhone and Android apps, plus a full web app at app.mscribeai.com that runs in any browser. Your clients and notes sync across all of them, so you can dictate on your phone between sessions and tidy up the paperwork on a laptop later.
Can I export notes for referrals or my own records?
Yes. Any note exports as a clean PDF carrying your practice name and logo, ready to send to a referring provider or the client, or to keep for your own records. PDF export is included on the free plan as well, and Pro removes the watermark.
